It was an unforgettable, end-of-summer weekend at Big Bear Lake! From August 22–24, Ski Beach Park came alive with three days of paddling, swimming, live music, food, family fun, and community spirit.

Paddle Lakefest: Racing at Elevation
Athletes and weekend warriors alike hit the water for Paddle Lakefest, with high-energy competitions across 5K, 10K, and 20K distances. From seasoned pros to enthusiastic first-timers, competitors launched into Big Bear’s alpine waters, testing endurance and soaking up the mountain sunshine.
Swim Lakefest: Cool Water, Hot Competition
The lake wasn’t just for paddlers. Swim Lakefest challenged racers to plunge into excellent water conditions at 70°F high above sea level. Participants swam 1.2 and 2.4 miles, earning medals, race swag, and locally crafted awards that reflected the spirit of the mountain community.
Live Original Music: 12 Bands, One Stage
Music filled the lakeshore all weekend with a lineup of 12 original bands, keeping the energy flowing from day to night. Performances included:

From bluegrass to blues, indie to Americana, the stage at Ski Beach Park rocked nonstop, providing the perfect soundtrack to Big Bear’s summer sendoff.
Party, Party, PARTY!
Beyond the races and music, Lakefest was a full-blown festival. Attendees enjoyed a lively beer garden, a variety of local eats, artisan merchandise stalls, a kids zone, and convenient bike valet and shuttle services—making it easy for everyone to celebrate the weekend at their own pace.
Family Fun & Surprises
Lakefest was designed for all ages, and families discovered plenty of ways to join in the fun. Crowds cheered at BMX stunt shows, tested their strength in arm wrestling matches, and watched artists create with live painting and wood-carving demonstrations. Kids and adults alike joined the drum circle, marveled at a karate demo, and hoped their number was called in raffles with big prizes.
A Community Celebration
Lakefest wasn’t just an event—it was Big Bear’s ultimate farewell to summer. With its perfect mix of paddle, swim, music, and party, the festival captured the heart of what makes Big Bear special: adventure, community, and a love for the great outdoors.
